UC Announces New Board Member

The University of Charleston (UC) is pleased to announce that D. F. Mock III has been elected to the UC Board of Trustees. Mock is regional president at United Bank. He will serve a three-year term.

“UC has long benefitted from its exceptional board of trustees,” says UC President Marty Roth. “They are deeply committed to the university’s success. Their advisory, network and philanthropic support help us achieve our mission to educate every student for a life of productive work, enlightened living and community involvement. D.F. Mock will add area business and financial expertise to our outstanding board. This is a natural extension of the robust partnership between the university and United Bank.”

Mock is deeply committed to West Virginia. After graduating with his BSBA from West Virginia University, he began his career at United Bank serving in various positions within the commercial credit and lending line of business. Over the subsequent 20 years, he has taken on managerial and leadership roles of increasing responsibility for United, culminating in becoming the state’s regional president in 2018. He also completed the Executive MBA program at West Virginia University early in his tenure with the bank. He is very active in his community, serving on boards such as Highmark West Virginia, Inc., the Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences, Education Alliance, WV Chamber of Commerce and Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond’s West Virginia Industry Roundtable. He is also a member of Christ Church United Methodist. Mock resides in Charleston, WV, with his wife Juli and daughters Haydon and Harper.
