The University Economics Club will welcome syndicated columnist and author Cal Thomas at noon, Thursday, April 3 to the River City Restaurant, 1400 Main Street.
Thomas is a panelist currently on the popular show Fox News Watch. He has also worked with NBC, CNBC, PBS and the FOX News Network, where he frequently provides political commentary. He has authored over ten books, including “The Death of Ethics in America,” “Uncommon Sense” and “The Things That Matter Most.” In 1995, Thomas was honored with a Cable ACE Award nomination for Best Interview Program. Other awards include a George Foster Peabody team reporting award, and awards from both the Associated Press and United Press International. In addition to his journalistic and literary achievements, Thomas lectures frequently on college campuses and is in great demand as a speaker for private, public, and corporate audiences worldwide. Thomas and his wife Ray, who is a family therapist, have four children and eight grandchildren and currently live in the Washington, D.C. area.

All events are open to the public and begin at noon at River City.
Funded through a grant from BB&T, the University Economics Club is sponsored by the BB&T Center for Economic Philosophy, chaired by Dr. Erik Root, associate professor of Political Science at WLU.
It seeks to engage faculty, students and the public in serious and sustained examination of the free market.
