Veltex Medical, Inc. is hosting an event to celebrate the launch of recovery-focused services at the new Veltex Recovery Group, Mt. Hope Campus facility.
This world-class facility will be dedicated to addiction prevention services, community education about substance use disorders and reduction of stigmas associated with addiction and related treatment. Additionally, Veltex will focus on education and job training with a goal toward job procurement for future clients and residents.
The event will introduce and highlight Veltex partnerships in the area, including the new Medical Director, Olu Sangodeyi, M.D., and members from the staff at Med-Surg Physician Group. This newly forged partnership will bring evidence-based practices and subject matter expertise in the on-going effort to help those struggling with addiction and substance use disorders in the region.
“Between 2019 and 2020, we saw drug overdose deaths increase by more than 45% in West Virginia,” said Dr. Sangodeyi. “A combination of the added stressors related to Covid-19 and the Covid economy in Appalachia virtually eliminated the progress the state has made in previous years in reducing deaths and overdoses. Today’s substance use disorder challenges are greater than ever before, so I’m thrilled to partner with Veltex in bringing a higher level of addiction treatment and care to our Mountain State.”
For this event celebration, Veltex leadership will be joined by members of the West Virginia Legislature, Rep. Carol Miller (R-WV-3), leadership from the City of Mt. Hope and others to tour the newly remodeled space and celebrate the opening of the Veltex Recovery Group, Mount Hope Campus.
