The Wellness Center at Berkeley Medical Center will be offering a free quarterly stress management lecture series with Kara Combs, MPH, CHES. The series begins Thursday, April 24 at 6pm in the Cardiac Rehab Area of The Wellness Center in the McCormack Center. The first session is titled “Personal Resilience.”
“The purpose of the quarterly stress management series is to present practical information to help you learn to cope with stress to have a positive impact on your health and well-being,” said Dana DeJarnett, health promotion specialist for The Wellness Center.
Combs adds, “Everyone has some source of stress in their lives. The idea is not to remove it, but to reframe it or find a way to better manage it. Often, we are not taught these skills. These lectures will help you do just that.”
The quarterly series will be offered in April, July and October. Other topics include “Suspending Stress” and “Stress Resilient Nutrition.” For more information, call 304-264-1287, ext. 31814 or email ddejarnett@wvuhealthcare.com.
The lectures presented are from Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Health on the Menu Wellness Workshops. Programs are free and open to all.
