The West Virginia Hospital Association, a statewide 501(c)(6) association in Charleston, WV seeks a Vice President of Finance Policy that will provide support to member hospitals and assist in internal budgetary and finance oversight. Overall, the Association provides a wide range of services including advocacy and public policy; communications and media relations; data and informatics; financial policy; quality initiatives; and education.
WVHA operates an affiliate and a subsidiary: Healthcare Education Foundation of West Virginia, a 501(c)(3) that provides education and support services to members with financial assistance from state and federal grants; and West Virginia Health Services, a for-profit subsidiary providing business and health related services in conjunction with external organizations.
The Vice President of Finance Policy will provide financial leadership on two fronts. First, for West Virginia Hospital Association and its subsidiaries, this position is responsible for financial oversight for the multiple entities and governmental grants managed by the organizations, as well as financial compliance and long-term financial stability. Second, the position is responsible for monitoring, interpreting, and implementing federal and state health policy issues as they affect the financial and operational status of WVHA member hospitals and health systems.
The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of an undergraduate degree in accounting, health policy or other related field while a graduate degree or CPA is preferred. A minimum of ten years’ experience in a related position or field of work is desirable. The applicant should have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others; excellent communication skills, to manage multiple tasks; be self-motivated; and work with minimal supervision.
