West Virginia Northern Community College’s (WVNCC) Academic Support Center will host a No Stigma Attached Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on their Wheeling Campus. The speaker will be the Food Mood Girl, Lindsey Smith, who is a nationally recognized author, health coach, and speaker. The event is free, but people must register in advance. Lunch will be provided and anyone attending the event will have a chance to win Smith’s newest book, “Eat Your Feelings.”
Smith is devoted to helping everyone live a more vibrant life through self-love and guilt-free living. Affected by anxiety from a young age, Smith reached out to coaches and mentors to help her reduce negativity and toxic thinking from her life.
Author of “Junk Foods & Junk Moods,” “52 Ways to Love Your Body More,” and “Food Guilt No More,” Smith believes in a holistic approach to health in which a well-balanced life involves eating your veggies and occasionally indulging in that double chocolate brownie. She’s committed to help people find their empowered, kind, and fearless inner voice. Smith has been featured on the Lisa Oz Show, MindBodyGreen, CBS News, and in Girl’s Life and Shape magazines, and is a regular fixture in the media in her native Pittsburgh.
Lunch will be provided by As You Like it Catering and food being served will be inspired by the speaker’s book. Anyone interested in attending the Lunch & Learn can call 304-214-8923 or email asc@wvncc.edu for reservations by January 18, 2019. The event will take place in the auditorium of the B&O Building which is located at 1704 Market St. Wheeling, W.VA. This event was made possible in part by the Diversity for Equity Grant from the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission.
