WVNCC’s Academic Support Center to host Lunch and Learn topic on behavior modification

West Virginia Northern Community College’s (WVNCC) Academic Support Center will host a No Stigma Attached Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, from noon – 1 p.m. on their Wheeling Campus. The topic will include behavior modification. The free event includes lunch and is open to the public.

WVNCC’s Director of Human Services and Early Childhood, Kathy Herrington, will speak on Behavior Modification, including understanding behavior and how it is influenced positively or negatively.  Herrington will also discuss how common principles of behavior modification can be used to increase desirable behaviors and decrease undesirable behaviors in ourselves, our children, or our pets and the differences between positive reinforcement and punishment.

Herrington has a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology as well as a Master’s degree in Communication. In addition to being a professor at WVNCC she is also a licensed social worker.

Anyone wishing to attend the free Lunch and Learn must register ahead of time by calling 304-214-8923 or emailing asc@wvncc.edu. The B&O Building is located at 1704 Market St. Wheeling, W.VA. The event will take place in the Auditorium.
