Featuring an impressive lineup of industry experts, the West Virginia Oil & Natural Gas Association (WVONGA) will hold its Spring Meeting May 14-15, at Oglebay Resort & Conference Center.

“From billions of dollars of investment in pipelines and natural gas power generation to initiatives to lower the industry’s carbon footprint, there is so much positive activity occurring in West Virginia’s natural gas industry,” said Anne Blankenship, executive director of WVONGA. “Our spring meeting will shine a spotlight on these activities and much more.”

Stacey Olson, president of Chevron Appalachia LLC, and Jim Scheel, senior VP of Northeast Gathering and Processing with the Williams Companies, will provide their executive-level perspective on the opportunities and challenges facing natural gas producers in the state and nationally.

West Virginia’s natural gas industry is playing a major role in helping reduce overall U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, and industry producers, generators and distributors operating in the state are committed to furthering the cause.

Jeffrey Keffer, president and CEO of Longview Power, will discuss his company’s plans for the Longview Power Clean Energy Center.  This billion-dollar project will include a 1,200-megawatt natural gas combined cycle power plant and a 50-megawatt solar installation, making it a global model for low emission power generation.

Cristie Neller, vice president of Dominion Energy’s Eastern Pipeline Engineering & Construction Gas Infrastructure Group, will highlight the company’s launch of its historic, industry-leading initiative to reduce methane emissions from its natural gas infrastructure by fifty percent.

The event will also feature discussion on a variety of critical regulatory and technical issues related to natural gas production, distribution and transportation, including Clean Water Act permitting, eminent domain, environmental issues and pipeline design and installation considerations.
