Immediate admission decisions will be available to students interested in attending West Virginia State University (WVSU) in the fall of 2013 during On-the-Spot Decision Day, Saturday, Feb. 23.
Designed for both first-time freshman and transfer students, the event will begin at 11 a.m. in the Wilson University Union and will feature presentations on admissions and financial aid. Tours of the Institute campus will also be available to prospective WVSU students during On-the-Spot Decision Day.
Applications that are completed will be reviewed by WVSU Admissions staff and decisions will be provided individually throughout the event.
The event is being held on a Saturday to accommodate as many students and family members as possible.
To receive an on-the-spot decision, students must complete a WVSU application for admission and provide ACT or SAT scores, as well as high school or college transcripts, as appropriate.
“WVSU hosted its first On-the-Spot Decision Day last fall and there was a great response from students,” said Katherine McCarthy, vice president for Enrollment and Student Affairs. “We understand that students are busy, and this event, on a Saturday, is a good opportunity for them to get as much done in a short amount of time as they can.”
Refreshments will be provided.
Following the completion of On-the-Spot Decision Day, those attending are invited to stay on campus to watch the Yellow Jackets men’s and women’s basketball teams face the University of Charleston. The women’s game begins at 2 p.m. while the men’s game begins at 4 p.m. Admission to the games is free for those attending On-the-Spot Decision Day.
