ZMM Architects and Engineers is proud to have donated more than $300,000 in 2024 to support organizations dedicated to enhancing the cultural and educational landscapes across West Virginia, Virginia and Ohio.

“We believe that a strong community is the foundation for growth and success,” says Adam R. Krason, principal and architect at ZMM Architects and Engineers. “Our team of more than 65 professionals is dedicated to making a difference, and we are proud to be able to collaborate with outstanding organizations to build legacies in the communities we serve.”

ZMM hit two major milestones this year – a company record in total contributions and creating an endowed scholarship. For years, ZMM has contributed to scholarships and other educational programs to address the need of retaining local talent, but this is the first endowed scholarship created in the firm’s name. The ZMM scholarship helps West Virginia engineering students at Marshall University and is part of President Brad D. Smith’s Marshall for All initiative.

“ZMM Architects and Engineers are a West Virginia success story. They set the example in the quality of their work, in the morality of their company and in their willingness to help others around them. They exemplify excellence in everything we love about West Virginia,” says Smith.

ZMM’s donations have provided support for projects ranging from educational access programs and scholarships, community and economic development, leadership and professional development, cultural and arts programming, comprehensive health care initiatives, food insecurity programs and other basic needs support. These contributions have been instrumental in the important work of a variety of non-profits.

ZMM also supported Active Southern West Virginia, CAMC Foundation, Charleston Area Alliance, the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Charleston Regatta, Charleston Urban Works, The Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences, The Education Alliance, Generation West Virginia, Goodwill Industries of the Summit, Leadership West Virginia, Marshall Artist Series, Mountain Mission, West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, West Virginia Health Right, West Virginia Public Broadcasting Mountain Readers Program, West Virginia State University and WVSU Athletics, West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, WVU Medicine and many others.

“ZMM had such a huge part in opening these stores which generate millions of dollars for our mission,” Goodwill Industries of the Summit President and CEO, Daniel Owen, says. “None of that would have been possible without ZMM.”

Looking ahead, ZMM Architects and Engineers plans to continue its tradition of community engagement and support in 2025 and beyond. The company remains committed to leveraging its resources and expertise to improve the lives of those in the communities it serves.
