Main Street Fairmont invites everyone to the Downtown Fairmont event of the year!

The Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival kicks off at 11 am with an authentic Italian street market and craft show. The movie by the same name has opened in select theaters nationwide and the author/playwright/ director, Robert Tinnell, will be available to sign DVDs and books.  The Firehall will feature live music by The Cavaliers, Amici in America and Sam Manno among others and The Vocal Tapestry and The Madrigals will be performing inside Gatherings. Food trucks, a beer/wassail tent and booths will have delectable treats for sale. The Arts & Antiques Marketplace will host the Miners Appreciation Day Swap Meet (10 am-3 pm) and live music on the third-floor stage.  Santa will be ho-ho-ho-ing on the second floor of the Marketplace in the Baroque Room (12 pm -4 pm) and the Coal Miner’s Exhibit will be open as well. The United Way will be hosting an open house to show off their new building and the Telephone Museum will be giving tours.

Main Street comes alive at 3 pm with a nostalgic kick-off to the 200th year birthday celebration of Fairmont, The Holiday Homecoming. A Live Nativity, beautiful storefront displays and merriment all up and down Adams Street will bring back memories of times gone by!  Look for pop-up stores, author book signings, Marion County Historical Society Museum Tours, a magical presentation at the Marion County Library, street musicians and special treats available at the downtown eateries! All this fun goes on until 7pm with the Parade coming through right in the middle, at 5pm.   On the night before the Festival, as in years past, The Cucina Festival will be held at 6 pm on December 13th.  This cooking “show” features regional chefs with authentic Italian dishes that the guests get to sample. It is a night filled with fun and music and tickets for this part of the event are  $30 and available on the Main Street website or www.eventbrite.com   For more information on the festivals and events, please visit www.mainstreetfairmont.org or call 304-366-0468
