On Thursday, November 27th, the Associated Builders and Contractors of West Virginia (ABCWV) gathered in Morgantown, West Virginia for the 27th Annual Excellence in Construction Awards. After an extensive application and selection process was performed by an independent team of architects and engineers, fourteen project awards were announced to a crowd of over 150 people in a variety of categories. ABCWV member companies were also recognized for their exemplary performance in safety and design.

“This is really the most meaningful event our organization hosts every year. As an association, our membership is continually involved in developing affinity programs, advanced training initiatives, countless networking opportunities or operating our state and local government affairs programs to name a few, but at the core of everything we strive to do or ultimately achieve are the projects,” stated ABCWV President Bryan Hoylman. “It’s an absolute pleasure for everyone in our organization to come together and celebrate the companies, the project owners, the design teams and most importantly, our skilled workforce every year at this event. Our member companies have been and continue to build the most remarkable commercial and industrial projects in the Mountain State,” Hoylman continued.

This year’s winners include ABCWV member companies who received awards in thirteen different categories. From those category award winners one project is chosen as the ‘project of the year.’ This project is judged on overall design, scale, scope, quality performance, safety performance as well as a number of other criteria. This year’s ‘project of the year was won by ABCWV member company, The March-Westin Company, Inc. for the Evansdale Crossing project located in Morgantown, WV.
