Justin Turner knows where he’s going.
While he started his student career at the University of Charleston majoring in business and health care, he quickly realized he needed a different approach. After switching strictly to business and receiving guidance from his mentor, Kevin Fowler, his pursuit of an MBA in health care management helped lead to his current position as the director of physician recruitment for Logan Regional Medical Center (LRMC).
For Wesley Richardson, the managing partner at Northwestern Mutual, business savvy came naturally at a young age. Despite dreams of other professions, once he was bitten by the business bug, his path was set.
A country girl at heart, Kimberly Moyers gained many of the skills she uses as market president of First United Bank & Trust growing up on a farm in Preston County. The lessons she gleaned from her hard-working family—work smarter, not harder; don’t burn bridges, no matter how much you may want to; take pride in your accomplishments, but don’t allow them to define who you are; smile and be kind and be honest and trust your integrity to show through in everything you do—have helped her find success through humility and a strong work ethic.

Sergeant Tillman “Nick” Mooney grew up in Fayette County, where he learned at an early age the importance of family. It should come as no surprise that his family is the source of motivation for everything he has accomplished as a deputy sheriff, detachment commander, K-9 handler and tactical operator for the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department. “My family motivates me at work as a law enforcement officer to ensure I do things soundly, safely and justly, which allows me to go home every day with my head held high knowing I did good things,” he says.
