The annual Bear Hole Road Race at Twin Falls State Park in Wyoming County is set for July 12.  There will be 10K and 5K runs, as well as a 5K walk. Plaques will be awarded to the first, second and third place male and female winners in each category.

Participants will receive a T-shirt at registration as quantities permit. There are seven age divisions: 14 and younger, 15-20, 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and older.

There is an entry fee of $12 for the 10K and 5K runs.  A recreational 5K walk and one-mile Fun Run each cost $1 to enter. A pre-registration form can be found at www.twinfallsresort.com under ‘Events’.

“Day-of race registrants may bring the completed form the day of the race and save time filling out paperwork. They will have more time to warm up and get ready for what is traditionally a great morning run. We’ll also have forms at registration,” says Asst. Superintendent Tara Sheets.

Race registration is in the upper parking lot near the pro shop and opens at 7:00 a.m. The 10K race starts at 8:30 a.m. The 5K race starts at 9:00 a.m.

July 12 is also Cool! Pool Day at Twin Falls’ outdoor swimming pool, sponsored by Appalachian Power Company. Admission is free. The company and Twin Falls Resort State Park encourage families and youth to visit the park and take advantage of the swimming pool. The pool is open from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
