This important pro-life educational program sponsored by West Virginians for Life, along with Greer Industries, Pediatric and Teenage Dentistry of Morgantown and the Pregnancy Resource Center of Marion County, will be held on Sunday, January 20 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Bridgeport Conference Center, 300 Conference Center Way, Bridgeport, WV.

Since January 22, 1973, when Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton made abortion legal for all nine months of pregnancy, abortion has caused serious negative effects. Research on women who have had abortions demonstrates that it increases the risks of having future physical and psychological problems.

Priscilla Coleman, Ph.D. is a Professor at Bowling Green State University. Her research on women who have had abortions demonstrates that abortion causes significant increases in suicide, substance abuse, psychological problems and physical health problems. She estimates that a minimum of 20-30% of women experience adverse, prolonged post-abortion psychological reactions to their abortions. In addition, abortion leads to higher risks for sexual dysfunction and problems in inter-personal relationships.

Dr. Coleman will be available for interviews about her important research on the damage caused by abortion along with the other speakers: West Virginians for Life President Wanda Franz, Ph.D., Byron C. Calhoun, M.D., Laura Hussey, Ph.D. and Gunter Franz, Ph.D.
The event is free, open to the public and includes refreshments. For more information, call the WVFL office at 304-594-9845.
