Created to raise money for the WVU Children’s Hospital at Ruby Memorial, the Stick Tattoo Co. Tats for Tots campaign concluded with window paintings and a check presentation on Wednesday, April 8.
Beginning in February, Stick Tattoo Co. launched Tats for Tots, a three-month initiative created to raise money for the WVU Children’s Hospital. During each Tuesday in February, proceeds from tattoo, piercing and retail sales were donated to help benefit the cause.
The event was then capstoned by a team-oriented art day in which Stick Tattoo employees traveled on site to Children’s Hospital to decorate patient windows throughout the floor. A total of approximately $1500 raised was donated at the Check Presentation on Wednesday, April 8.
“The event was extremely fun and rewarding to see how our art can bring a smile to the children’s’ faces, and how appreciative the nurses, doctors and staff were today,” said Dan Lewis, one of the newest artists to join the Stick Tattoo family. “It means a lot that we are able to help give back to the community.”
The team at Stick Tattoo looks forward to making the inaugural campaign an annual event.
“We want to continue our efforts to be involved in the community,” said Stick Tattoo Owner, Ferek. “Our goal with Tats for Tots was to continue our partnership with WVU Children’s Hospital and do what we can to fundraise and increase the awareness and support of the hospital, and we were extremely happy to accomplish that.”
