The U.S. Small Business Administration’s West Virginia District Office and West Virginia University hosts Boots to Business: Reboot, an entrepreneurship training course for Veterans and their spouses starting Wednesday, May 20, at 8:30 a.m. through Thursday May 21, 2015, at 4:30 p.m. at West Virginia University’s Parkersburg campus.
Boots to Business: Reboot is a two-day course introducing veterans to business ownership fundamentals. During the event presenters lead participants through the key steps of evaluating business concepts and developing a business plan. The program introduces participants to a network of lifetime business support available through SBA’s network, including: Veteran Business Outreach Centers, Women’s Business Centers, Small Business Development Centers and SCORE Counselors.
“The military has a track record of producing outstanding leaders, explaining why nearly 1 in 10 U.S. entrepreneurs are veterans” states Karen Friel, SBA’s West Virginia district director. “Trainings like this help develop their skills, connect them to the right resources, and lead them to be successful entrepreneurs in their communities.”
The event is located at 300 Campus Drive in Parkersburg. Register for the free event at www.sba.gov/wv or contact Larry Batten at 304-623-7447 or larry.batten@sba.gov.
