Generation West Virginia to host inaugural pre-conference series October 21st.

Join Generation West Virginia at their inaugural Generation Kickstart event on October 21st for workshops and speakers on how to develop and stay inspired as an emerging leader in the state.

“We are so excited for this new series that offers young West Virginians opportunities to connect with peers and experts around the state, “ says Generation West Virginia Executive Director, Natalie Roper. “Young West Virginians need the flexibility to get the valuable professional and leadership development they need in the short time they have to take off of work or school. Our Generation Kickstart series offers high quality trainings in a condensed format, while still creating a place for young West Virginians to connect with each other and stay inspired.”

Generation Kickstart is Generation West Virginia’s new pre-conference series for young West Virginians. The event gives attendees a kickstart to conference connecting, learning, and inspiring. The first of the Generation Kickstart series will kickoff the Leadership West Virginia Conference.

This inaugural Generation Kickstart will feature informative and inspiring speakers and workshops from 1pm to 5pm at the West Virginia University Alumni Center in Morgantown, WV. The event features keynote speakers Margi Bush, President of Collaborative Thinking, LLC, and West Virginia University President Gordon Gee. Bush will give the opening keynote, discussing the importance of clear, simple yet compelling vision in young leaders encouraging, inspiring and motivating others. President Gee will speak to attendees on the role they play as young West Virginians in building a better future for the state.

Attendees will also benefit from hands on workshops throughout the afternoon. Lydotta Taylor, Founder and CEO of Edventure Group, will lead a session on managing different generations in the workplace. Luke Nesler, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Impakt marketing, will lead a session on creating a personal brand no one will forget. Kim Moyers, VP & Business Relationship Banker at First United Bank and Trust, will share expertise on personal finance and financial planning practices for young professionals. In Margi Bush’s session, attendees will learn how to develop the leadership skills they need to succeed.
