Andra Hardin, RN, was elected to serve as 2016-2017 President of the West Virginia Council of Home Care Agencies at the annual meeting earlier this month.
The West Virginia Council of Home Care Agencies supports an individual’s right to live independently at home as long as possible. The Council serves as an information center for members about legislation and provides education to the industry regarding standards of care.
Hardin will work with the national Council of State Home Care Associations, state regulatory bodies and national and state lawmakers to represent the home health industry in West Virginia before state and federal government officials.
Hardin began her career at Cabell Huntington Hospital as a nursing assistant in Home Health in 1974. After serving in functions of increasing responsibility within the department, she was named to her current position as Director of Home Health in 2001.
The Cabell Huntington Hospital Home Health Agency provides skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social service, infusion therapy and personal care for adults and children at home. The agency serves patients in Cabell, Lincoln, Putnam, and Wayne counties in West Virginia and Lawrence and Gallia counties in Ohio.
