Jefferson Security Bank President and CEO Cindy Kitner announced the promotion of Andrea Anderson to vice president and compliance officer. Anderson has worked for Jefferson Security Bank since 2012 and previously served as the bank’s compliance analyst.
“Andrea has played a large role in ensuring our banking practices remain in compliance with the ever changing regulatory requirements,” Kitner said. “In today’s environment, compliance is a vital part of the financial services industry, and we are pleased to have Andrea overseeing this area.”
Anderson began her career at Jefferson Security Bank as a teller after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and business administration from Shepherd University in 2012. Prior to being promoted to her new position, Anderson worked as a bookkeeper and loan processor. Anderson earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Shepherd University in 2015 and continues to focus on furthering her education.
Her new duties as vice president and compliance officer include staying informed about regulatory requirements and issues in the industry, monitoring bank activities for compliance, providing compliance training and communicating updates to all employees and directors. Anderson also will serve as the bank’s customer information security officer and Community Reinvestment Act officer.
“I always knew I wanted a career in banking. This position allows me to focus on protecting our customers and all areas of the bank,” Anderson said. “I’m excited to be part of Jefferson Security Bank and our exciting future in community banking.”
