The City of Wheeling Arts & Cultural Commission presents the second annual Wheeling Arts Fest on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The admission-free event is open to everyone in the community and offers a variety of arts and cultural programs, including live music, visual arts, theatre, dance, literature, culinary demonstrations, historical arts and much more. Major venues for the day-long festival are the Ohio County Public Library, West Virginia Northern Community College, and West Virginia Independence Hall, with additional artisans and performers showcased within these downtown blocks.
“We are excited to expand the Wheeling Arts Fest this year to include more performances, artists, food, literary events, and hands-on art for children and adults,” notes Erika Donaghy, Chair of the City of Wheeling Arts and Cultural Commission. “The lineup upholds the Festival’s mission of connecting the community to the arts by creating an atmosphere where a diverse audience can express their creativity and celebrate the rich cultural and artistic heritage of Wheeling.”
Wheeling Arts Fest is handicap accessible and all events are within walking distance to each other. Since many programs have been scheduled at inside locations, the festival will take place regardless of weather. There will be plenty of seating available at the event.
