A former West Virginia State Delegate with a background in corporate, civic and governmental management has joined Orion Strategies.
Tiffany Lawrence, of Charles Town, W.Va., will serve as Senior Account Executive at Orion Strategies, a West Virginia based strategic communications and public relations firm. Lawrence will lead the firm’s operations in the Eastern Panhandle, said Curtis Wilkerson, Orion principal.
“Tiffany’s background in strategic communications and public relations is quite extensive,” Wilkerson said. “We’re very happy to have her come on board and join the exemplary team at Orion.”
“I’m very excited to begin my journey with Orion,” Lawrence said. “I’ll be providing my own unique expertise to meet our clients’ needs.”
Lawrence is the former Vice President of Membership & Development at the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. During her tenure at the Conservancy, she led a team that focused on high-level philanthropic relationships across the outdoor industry with corporate partners, foundations and major donors from Georgia to Maine. Before taking her position at the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, she served as the Director of Resource Development and Marketing for United Way of the Eastern Panhandle. She was also the Marketing and Public Relations Manager for Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races.
She served in the West Virginia House of Delegates for three terms, representing Jefferson County’s 65thDistrict from 2008 until 2014. While in the State House, Lawrence served as the Assistant Majority Whip and as the Chairwoman of the Committee on Political Subdivisions.
She is currently a second-year Doctor of Executive Leadership student at the University of Charleston. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Shenandoah University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Business Administration from Shepherd University.
Lawrence is also very involved in the regional community. She is a member of the East Ridge Health Systems Board of Directors and is active with the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. She is a Jefferson County 4-H leader, a Girl Scouts of the Nation’s Capital Women of Distinction committee member as well as a Charles Town Rotary Club member and Service Chair. She has received multiple awards for her public and non-profit work.
