Shepherd University has signed an agreement of cooperation with Okayama University that will give Shepherd students the opportunity to complete a semester or a year at the Japanese university.
Dr. Lois Jarman, director of international affairs, said the bilateral agreement allows students from each school to enroll at their home university and take classes abroad. Under the agreement, up to two exchange students can be admitted to each university per academic year. The agreement also promotes the exchange of faculty and staff, collaborative research, instructional, and cultural programs, and the exchange of research information.
“We’ll begin to talk to students about the opportunities that are there and start to recruit students who might be interested in going,” Jarman said. “I hope we will be sending students by the fall of 2019.”
