Mount Gay, W.Va. – Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College is proud to announce that Marshall University, Wrestling All Stars, and Old World Comics are on the growing list of vendors for our inaugural S-Con Gaming and Pop Culture Convention. Our Logan campus will host the event next Saturday, July 28, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The family friendly event will be free, but participants are asked to register at the door.
The Southern Coalition for the Arts will be offering two “Escape Room” experiences at our event. Local author and artist Steven Paul Watson will be on hand to talk with visitors about his work, including his published novel, Howling Moon.
S-Con will include various gaming activities, and there will be demonstrations from Southern’s Drone Technology program, courtesy of Southern’s FAA-certified instructors, Matt Payne and Rick Thompson.
“S-Con will be a great event for our college,” Southern President, Dr. Robert Gunter, said. “I can see this becoming an annual event. It promises to be a lot of fun, and a great day for our community.”
