Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern West Virginia will hold their annual For Our Families 5K on Saturday, October 20 at the new Shawnee Sports Complex (519 King Street) in Dunbar. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the race starting at 9 a.m.
“We are always grateful for the community’s support of our mission and the work that we do, and we look forward to hosting the For Our Families 5K again this year,” said Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern West Virginia’s Executive Director, Dewayne Dickens. “We invite everyone — runners and walkers — to come out and join us for a fun, active morning.”
Proceeds from the For Our Families 5K go towards the critical work of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern West Virginia. Each registration will provide monetary support
necessary to provide lodging, meals, and other services for one night to a family that wishes to remain close to their hospitalized child.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female racers overall and in each age group: 13 and under, 14-16, 17-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61+.
