Winners of the ninth annual City Hospital Foundation Tennis Classic, which raised $10,500 in support of City Hospital, were recently announced.
The champions were Al Delapaz in the men’s division and Mary Lynn Graham in the women’s. Finishing second were Nathan Jones and Heidi Arnao. Cliff Jones had the most aces. Forty players participated in the tournament, which was held on September 8 at St. James School.
The City Hospital Foundation, a member of West Virginia University Hospitals-East, sponsors this annual fall fund-raising event along with a group of local physicians and community leaders who serve on the organizing committee.
Since the tournament was established in 2004, nearly $100,000 has been raised to fund patient care equipment at City Hospital as well as the hospital’s community service projects.
