Paws N Pals Doggy Daycare and Boarding is holding an open house and one-year anniversary celebration from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, August 15, at its new location, 611 South Oakwood Avenue in Beckley, WV. Co-owners Jennifer Camarillo and Corey Lacy will open the event with a ribbon cutting at 12:15 p.m.

Paws N Pals is a two-time winner in the Pitch Southern West Virginia Business Idea Competition held by the West Virginia Hive and West Virginia University Institute of Technology.

“With our growing business, a move became a must. We outgrew our current space and needed something bigger and with a yard that could be fenced in for an outdoor play area for the dogs,” says Camarillo.

“We used our winnings from the pitch competition to upgrade our beautiful new grooming space. The new facility will also give us the option and space to board cats,” Lacy adds

WV Hive Senior Business Advisor Mary Legg has been working closely with Camarillo and Lacy on their growth strategy and possible diversification into boarding cats.

“Jennifer and Corey have found a genuine need in the Raleigh County area and are doing their best to meet and exceed customer expectations,” says Legg.

Attendees can register on-site to win a free pet grooming or a free daycare day. Refreshments will also be provided. The August 15 event is being supported by the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce.
