PACE Enterprises has received renewed 2013 NAID AAA certification for its plant-based shredding operations in Morgantown, West Virginia. The company was required to meet robust security thresholds established by the National Association for Information Destruction in order to receive the AAA certification status for its document shredding operations.

The AAA certification ensures that all of the company’s shredding services exceed all federal and state legislation in regards to information management security requirements. NAID verified that PACE Shredding adheres to the highest information destruction security practices and standards. NAID inspectors evaluated operational security, employee hiring and screening, the destruction process, responsible disposal and insurance. To ensure compliance year-round, PACE Shredding conducts background checks and drug screenings for all employees. Its senior managers also perform monthly internal audits to ensure operations continuously meet and exceed the standards.

PACE Enterprises helps people with disabilities find meaningful and gainful employment.  The mission is accomplished by providing training and job creation. The vision of the founders of PACE Enterprises was to give job opportunities in the local community for people with disabilities. PACE Shredding is one of several lines of business that provides employment opportunities to nearly 200 people with disabilities.

Greg Morris, CEO of PACE Enterprises, states, “We’re extremely proud of receiving our AAA certification for our plant based operations. All of our shredding services are in line with the industry’s highest standards and that means our customers can be confident that their information is being destroyed in the most secure manner. “

Leading the nation in unemployment of adults with disabilities, West Virginia has struggled to create opportunity for gainful employment and financial independence for this population. “We’re proud, with our partners, to have an opportunity to create good jobs with stability. All we need are enough customers to sustain the business,” said Morris.

The National Association for Information Destruction is an organization designed around creating standards and ethics for the document destruction industry.
