Boone Memorial Health (BMH) has once again earned national acclaim, receiving a Bronze Telly Award in the Business-to-Consumer Local TV category for its powerful Patient Experience campaign. This recognition places BMH among an elite group of creators at the 46th Annual Telly Awards—one of the world’s most prestigious honors for video and television content across all screens.
Produced in collaboration with Barnes Health, a division of Barnes Agency and BMH’s marketing agency of record, the award-winning campaign offers a compelling look into real, unscripted patient experiences, frontline staff perspectives and leadership commitments that define the BMH standard of care. Through five 30-second commercials, the campaign highlights the health system’s unwavering focus on empathy, accessibility and community-centered care.
“At Boone Memorial Health, we believe exceptional care starts with respect, empathy and a deep connection to the communities we serve,” says Ray Harrell, BMH general counsel and chief external affairs officer. “This campaign was about more than promoting services; it was about sharing the stories of real people whose experiences reflect the heart of our mission.”
Now in its 46th year, the Telly Awards honor the best in television and digital video production. This season saw over 13,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents, judged by a council of more than 250 industry leaders from global media powerhouses, including television networks, advertising agencies and production companies.
“The people of southern West Virginia understand each other in a way that creates truly compassionate care,” says BMH President and CEO Virgil Underwood. “It’s the stories of people like Natalie and Brad—patients cared for by friends and neighbors—that remind us what Bringing Medicine Home means. When you combine clinical excellence with genuine compassion, you create a more personal experience. That’s what this campaign captures, and I’m so proud of our team for this recognition.”
BMH is one of only two West Virginia health systems honored this year and the only critical access hospital in the state to receive a 2025 Telly Award. This marks the second year in a row that BMH has earned national recognition from the Telly Awards. Other winners include major names like Pixar Animation Studios, NASA, MTV Entertainment Studios, ESPN and LinkedIn.
