Marie C. Johns, Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), visited the West Virginia High Technology Consortium (WVHTC) Foundation incubator—a key component of the WVHTC Foundation’s continued efforts to create an atmosphere where small businesses can grow and prosper. The incubator was created in 1995 with seed money from the SBA and housed the SBA Business Information Center. The incubator has served over 40 tenants since inception by providing office space, business assistance programs and incubator services.

The New Year is a great time to think about new business. Deputy Administrator Johns met with entrepreneurs at the incubator to learn about their new businesses and discuss ways in which the SBA can help them grow and succeed in the New Year.

The WVHTC Foundation has worked for over 20 years to help support projects and foster small business innovation at every stage of a business’s development. There are currently seven entrepreneurs/small businesses housed at the incubator, including Athena Sciences Corporation, EXDEL Services LLC, Fenwick Technologies Inc. and Regional Contracting Assistance Center Inc.
