Two country rock acts with Mountain State roots will take the stage Friday night, Feb. 22, at West Virginia State University’s Capitol Center.
Former Charleston Town Center “Teen Idol” competition winner Colton Pack will start off the evening at 7:30 p.m.
A native of Danese, in Fayette County, Pack is an up and coming country music singer who spent much of 2012 travelling and performing. He recently recorded a three song demo with Jeff Stevens, producer to country music star Luke Bryan.
Pack performs both his own original songs and well-known country music favorites.
Following Pack onto the stage at 8:30 p.m. will be the country rock band Gage.
Formed in Huntington in 2009, Gage has since moved to Nashville, Tenn., to be closer to the heart of the country music scene.
During the past year, Gage has toured extensively and has opened for such well-known acts as Brett Michaels, Confederate Railroad, Darryl Worley and Jared Blake.
The band has recorded a host of original songs including “Roll On,” “Reason to Believe” and “Small Town Weekends.”
Friday night’s show will be catered by Grumpy’s Waterfront Grill.
The WVSU Capitol Center is located at 123 Summers St. in Charleston.
General admission tickets are $10. Student tickets are $5 and WVSU students are admitted free.
