Did you know the Small Business Administration is responsible for ensuring that 23 percent of federal contracting dollars go to small businesses, to include prime and subcontracts for women-owned small businesses (WOSB)? The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) celebrates Women’s History Month by providing a free workshop to educate women on how to get certified as a WOSB at the fourth annual Dynamic Networking for Small Business (DYNET) Conference.
The workshop will give an overview of the eligibility, application process, and required documentation to be eligible for certain federal contracts. “Today, women-owned businesses are the fastest growing segment of new businesses in our economy,” said Regional Administrator Natalia Olson-Urtecho. “I encourage women to take advantage of the training offered at the DYNET Conference and educate themselves on how to become a Certified Women-Owned Small Business.”
DYNET is a free day-long event on Wednesday, March 27 at the Robert H. Mollohan Research Center in Fairmont. The conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 4:00 p.m., with the WOSB Certification workshop held from 2:00 – 2:50 p.m. The SBA will also offer training workshops on Government Contracting 101, Registering as a Veteran Owned Small Business, and Securing Lines of Credit. The DYNET Conference is hosted by the I-79 Development Council. In addition to the SBA, participating organizations include the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Pittsburgh District and Huntington District.
