Join the “Hilltoppers” at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, at Heritage Port, Wheeling, as West Liberty University takes part in the annual Heart-To-Heart Walk. It is a unique campaign that blends the benefits of physical activity, community involvement and personal giving, according to WLU Vice President of Community Engagement Jeff Knierim.
“The heart walk is both a fund-raiser and an educational event and is important since cardiovascular disease and stroke are America’s #1 and #4 killers,” he said.
Participants ask their friends, families and co-workers for a flat donation for walking the 5K (3 miles) course. Walk teams are currently being organized on the WLU campus. If you would like to join a team or form your own team, please contact Knierim at 304-336-8310 or jknierim@westliberty.edu. For more information, visit www.heart.org/ohiovalleywalk.
