In response to a statewide request by Governor Earl Ray Tomblin, the staff of the Cabell-Huntington Convention & Visitors Bureau will be participating in the National Day to Serve by volunteering at the Huntington Area Food Bank on Monday, September 23.
Governor Earl Ray Tomblin is encouraging all West Virginians to organize projects and volunteer at least one day between September 15th and September 29th as part of Day to Serve, the second annual effort to strengthen communities through volunteer service.
“There are so many deserving organizations in our community, so we want to use this day of service at the Huntington Area Food Bank as the beginning of many future service opportunities for the CVB” says CVB President, Tyson Compton. “We are hopeful that other businesses and individuals will join us in working to make Cabell County a better place to live, work and visit.”
West Virginians are encouraged to learn more about Day to Serve and add their projects to the Day to Serve page, featured on the Governor’s website: www.governor.wv.gov/Pages/2013-Day-to-Serve.aspx.
