Join Generation Charleston for a forum discussing the future of housing in the downtown Charleston area.
The forum, which is scheduled for April 29, will feature David Molgaard, Charleston’s city manager. The event will take place at Charleston Area Alliance at 1116 Smith Street in Charleston f rom 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Molgaard will discuss the Charleston EDGE (Early Dynamic Guided Engagement) project. This project targets downtown housing needs as well as the business community’s desire to recruit and retain talent in Charleston.
EDGE is young talent recruitment tool to empower people to live, work and play in Charleston. The concept includes a new building downtown will be built to serve as housing and community space. EDGE participants will then participate in a structured community engagement process.
The ultimate goal is to cultivate lifelong engagement by young professionals through a program of early civic interaction and empowerment within an urban housing to home ownership program.
One consistent feedback that has been provided to the Alliance since the creation of Generation Charleston is the desire to create more urban living opportunities in the downtown area. Now is your chance to hear about this creative project as well as have an impact on the outcome, during an interactive session.
Light beverages will be served at the Alliance offices.
The event is FREE to attend, but RSVP is required. Click HERE to RSVP.
