Burning Rock Off-Road Park

Sophia, WV

Burning Rock Off-Road Park, located just 15 minutes south of Beckley, is made up of approximately 12,000 acres and features 150 miles of trails that range from beginner to expert. The trails are open year-round to ATVs, side by sides, dirt bikes and Jeeps. On-site amenities include cabin rentals, camping, RV sites with hookups and a general store.

Hatfield McCoy Trail System

Roller coasters don’t come close to the thrills you’ll find at this all-terrain park. With 1,000 miles of mountain trails in Boone, Kanawha, Lincoln, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Wayne and Wyoming counties and ATV-friendly towns along the way, there’s excitement at every turn on the Hatfield McCoy Trail System. The trail system sold more than 94,000 permits in 2021 and looks forward to even more growth.

Mountwood ATV Adventures

The trail system at Mountwood Park is located on the north side of Route 50. The trailhead is located at the Mountwood Family Campground, which allows riders to access the trails directly from their campsite. The trail system consists of approximately 20 miles of trails that range from easy to difficult, and more than 5,000 riders visit annually. Other amenities include an archery range, disc golf course, dog park and opportunities for bird watching, fishing, boating, hiking and biking.

The Good Evening Ranch

The Good Evening Ranch is a multi-use facility on over 500 acres. With approximately 50 miles of trails rated from mild to wild, the ranch is equipped for all types of off-road vehicles, including ATVs, UTVs, Jeeps, trucks, rock crawlers, comp buggies and rock bouncers. The facility also includes one of West Virginia’s premier equine facilities and hosts a number of horse shows. Other amenities include cabin rentals, a campground with power and water hookups, primitive sites, a bath house, concession stand, restaurant, saloon and fishing ponds.

The Greenbrier

The Greenbrier is home to over 2,000 acres of trail that hosted more than 5,000 riders last year. Get behind the wheel of the most extreme off-road vehicle and explore the majestic mountains of West Virginia for a unique experience. The resort’s highly trained guides lead and instruct visitors in a specialized Polaris RZR through its private 11,000-acre mountain preserve. The terrain varies from modest unpaved roads to some of the most extreme on the east coast, including rocks, ruts, creek crossings and steep hills.

Snowshoe Mountain Resort

Snowshoe Mountain Resort’s off-road adventure tours give riders the chance to experience a side of the resort that most guests have never seen. The guided tours wind their way through the unique, moss-covered red spruce forest that covers much of Snowshoe’s 11,000-acre backcountry. The tours include stops at the Backcountry Hut and Cheat Ridge fire tower, which offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding area. Snowshoe hosted more than 1,100 riders in 2021.
