Bobby Cales Promoted to DNR District 6 Captain

Bobby Cales was promoted to the rank of law enforcement captain for West Virginia Division of Natural Resources District 6 effective May 1, 2015. As captain, he will be responsible for the performance, maintenance and discipline of all Law Enforcement Section personnel assigned to District 6, based in Parkersburg. District 6 includes Wood, Pleasants, Tyler, Jackson, Wirt, Ritchie, Doddridge, Roane, Calhoun and Gilmer counties.

Cales has served as an officer in Wayne, Mercer and Summers counties. In 2009, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant in charge of Raleigh and Fayette counties. He was later reassigned to the regional training officer (RTO) sergeant position in District 6. He served in this position until he was promoted to lieutenant Feb. 6, 2012, and reassigned to District 5, based in Nitro.

Cales was deployed for more than a year to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and was deployed a second time in support of Operation New Dawn. He received a Bronze Star medal in recognition of his service during Operation New Dawn.
