Boy Scouts of America Honors Local Citizens

The annual dinner of the Mountaineer Area Council recognizes distinguished citizens whose leadership and philanthropy make a positive difference in our communities and represent the values instilled by the Boy Scouts of America. This year’s postponed dinner will be held at 6:00p.m. on Thursday, November19at the Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown to honor Ben Hardesty as the Distinguished Citizen, Mon Health as the Distinguished Corporate Citizen, and a special presentation to WV Coronavirus Czar Dr. Clay Marsh.The 2020 event is sponsored by Antero Resources and Dominion Energy Foundation.

The event will also continue presentations of the Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award to educators to be selected soon through a nomination process. A keynote address will be delivered by Al Lambert, Assistant Chief Scout Executive for the Boy Scouts of America overseeing outdoor programs including those at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in southern WV.

Proceeds from the event help grow and support Scouting programs in North Central West Virginia.
