BrickStreet Insurance, in partnership with the West Virginia Manufacturers Association (WVMA), presented the third BrickStreet and WVMA Safety Award during the seventh annual Marcellus and Manufacturing Development Conference in Morgantown, W.Va.
The 2018 BrickStreet and WVMA Safety Award was presented to Pioneer Pipe, located in Marietta, Ohio. Pioneer Pipe is the largest full-service construction, maintenance and fabrication company in its region, specializing in general, structural, mechanical and electrical construction, pipe fabrication and installation, steel fabrication and erection, modular fabrication and assembly, and plant maintenance.
“It is a great honor for us to present this award in partnership with WVMA,” said TJ Obrokta, president and chief operating officer of BrickStreet, a member of Motorists Insurance Group. “At BrickStreet, we know the best accidents are the ones that never happen, and this focus on safety and prevention is what sets us apart from other workers’ compensation insurance companies. We are aware that a culture of workplace safety requires education, commitment and dedication from the employer. This award is our way of recognizing those employers who choose to make safety paramount.”
The award—a custom Blenko glass vase—was presented during the BrickStreet Safety Award Luncheon on Tuesday, April 17, with several representatives from Pioneer Pipe in attendance to accept.

Pioneer Pipe employs more than 500 people across the region and has been in business for more than 35 years, with nearly all of its key personnel having been with the company more than 20 years.
