BridgeValley Community and Technical College to host AARP Foundation FINANCES 50+ Workshops at South Charleston and Montgomery Campus Locations

Area residents who are 50 or older are invited to attenda FINANCES 50+ program to be hosted by BridgeValley Community and Technical College on Fridays, October 17, 24, and 31, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., at the South Charleston campus, Union Carbide Drive, South Charleston, Room 004, and Thursdays,  October 23, 30 and November 6, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., at the Montgomery Campus, Davis Hall, 619 2nd Avenue, Montgomery, WV, Room 406.

The AARP Foundation FINANCES 50+, sponsored by and developed in collaboration with Charles Schwab Foundation, is all about helping 50+ participants see how to take charge of their finances.  In the first workshop you will get a realistic assessment of your financial standing, set goals, and learn about budgeting.  In the second workshop, you will assess your credit and debt situation and get guidance for improving your credit and paying down your debt.  The third workshop is focused on building and protecting your assets by learning ways to save money while protecting yourself and your loved ones from financial fraud and abuse. Participation in all three of the sessions is required.
