Canaan Valley Resort in West Virginia’s Allegheny Mountains will host two special events April 16 at 7:00 p.m.

For visitors who appreciate elegant gourmet cuisine, a five-course dinner with different wines pairings will be held in the lodge’s Aspen Room.

The Wine Dinner will feature a cheese and bread appetizer paired with a Prosecco, char-grilled Caesar salad paired with a Veltliner, sea scallops and chorizo risotto paired with a Rioja, lamb chops paired with a Bordeaux, and warm chocolate torte paired with a Brachetto d’Acqui.

The cost of the Wine Dinner is $75 per person plus tax and gratuities. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 304-866-4121, extension 2651.

Meanwhile the “Paint & Sip” event in the Maple Room will feature staff member and accomplished artist Nancy Guthrie who will share her painting expertise with participants as she takes them through the step-by-step process of creating a painting of spring flowers on a 16” x 20” canvas.

The event is priced at $45 per person and includes art supplies and apron. Beverages may be purchased separately from the lodge’s Laurel Lounge. Reservations can be made by calling 304-866-4121, extension 92788.

Special lodging rates are available that night as well.
