Cancer Services Topic of Community Seminar

West Virginia University Hospitals-East and the WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center Eastern Division will sponsor a community mini-medical school program on cancer care in the Eastern Panhandle.

The seminar will be held on Tuesday, April 16 in the WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center on the City Hospital campus.  The guest speaker is Eric Bonnem, MD, medical director of the WVUH-East Regional Cancer Program, and an assistant professor for the WVU School of Medicine.

Bonnem will present an overview of the cancer program and services now offered locally through WVUH-East.  He will also speak about the new Cancer and Infusion Center, a department of City Hospital, which opened in January in the McCormack Center.

Registration begins at 6:30 pm with the program to follow from 7 – 8 pm. Tours of the new center will be offered following the lecture.

This community mini-medical school program is being offered free to the public as a community service of WVUH-East and the WVU Health Sciences Center Eastern Division.  Reservations are strongly recommended.  For more information or to register for this program, phone 304-264-1287, ext. 31760.
