Calling all Charlestonians and visitors! It’s time for you to cast your vote for your favorite tourism partner!
The Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) kicked off its inaugural Charleston Tourism People’s Choice Awards.
Nominations and final votes all lead up to a presentation of winners during National Tourism Week. This annual event celebrates the strength and breadth of one of America’s leading economic generators – tourism.
“National Tourism Week celebrates the value of tourism in our communities and provides us an opportunity to recognize our tourism industry partners,” said CVB President/CEO Alisa Bailey. “Tourism is big business in the Charleston area and our industry partners deserve to be recognized for their hard work.”
Locals as well as visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite restaurant, attraction, lodging, retail shop or boutique and event. Nominations for favorite specialty drink and food dish will also be accepted. Nominees must be within Charleston city limits.

Those who submit nominations will be entered to win a $50 Visa gift card.
The deadline for nominations is March 15, 2012. Nominations will be narrowed to the top four from each category and will be revealed for another round of voting. The final vote will begin April 15, 2012, and conclude April 26, 2012.
