Stephanie Casey has been appointed Director of Hotel Operations at the Charleston Marriott Town Center, it was announced by Steve Lemmerman, General Manager. Ms. Casey is now a part of the hotel’s Executive Committee and oversees a team of 140 associates.
As a 22-year old college graduate, Ms. Casey arrived in Charleston looking for a job — much like most other recent grads — and had no idea that taking a position as a bellman at the Charleston Marriott Town Center would lead to a lifelong career. Now having been at the hotel for 18 years, she has worked in a variety of positions including Front Office Manager, Event Manager, and Senior Manager of Rooms Operations.
From that first day as a bellman, Stephanie quickly fell in love with the atmosphere of the hotel and grew to understand what an impact what she could have on someone’s life.
“One of the most rewarding take-aways from some of my experiences have been the connections I’ve made as an event planner working with a bride in planning her wedding and making multiple preparations over many months for her special day,” notes Ms. Casey. “Words just can’t express how I feel during her first dance with her new husband. To become a part of someone’s family and share that very personal moment is an honor and a pleasure — and just one of the many treasured experiences I have had being a part of this hotel.”
Stephanie Casey is a graduate of West Liberty State University and Marshall University Graduate College with a Masters of Science in Industrial and Employee Relations. She is a Girl Scout Leader for her daughter’s local troop and also volunteers with the Girl Scout Council to oversee a Local Area Leadership Team.
