Charleston Resident Receives Prestigious International Engineering Award

Theodore Streit, Sr. Vice President for Gaddy EngineeringCompany has been advised by the board of directors and the worldwide membership of the Society of Petroleum Engineers International that he is the 2013 recipient of the Robert Earll McConnell Award. Streit is the 20th person to win the award from the petroleum industry. The Robert Earll McConnell Award was established in 1968 to recognize beneficial service to mankind by engineers through significant contributions that advance a nation’s standard of living or replenish its natural resources base.

The award will be presented October 1, 2013 at the Society’s Annual Technical Conference held in the Ernst N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The SPE is the largest individual-member organization serving managers, engineers, scientists and other professionals worldwide in the upstream segment of the oil and gas industry. With over 110,000 members, worldwide the SPE’s mission is to collect, disseminate, and exchange technical knowledge concerning the exploration, development and production of oil and gas resources, and related technologies for the public benefit; and to provide opportunities for professionals to enhance their technical and professional competence.

Mr. Streit is a Registered Professional Engineer, Petroleum in WV. He is the Chairman of the Oil and Gas Committee of the WV Land and Mineral Owners Association, a member of the Appalachian Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and was appointed by WV Governor Earl R. Tomblin to serve as an advisor to the WV Department of Environmental Protection, to provide guidance developing a regulatory framework for Marcellus Shale Well Drilling.
