CHH, Hettlinger Receive Visionary Award from Feeding Hunger Food Bank

Cabell Huntington Hospital (CHH) received two awards of distinction from the Facing Hunger Food Bank during an appreciation reception held Wednesday, Jan. 27. The awards were presented to individuals and organizations who were present during the inception of the food bank and who have been consistent supporters for over 33 years.

Cabell Huntington Hospital leadership and CHH Food Services Director Kathy Hettlinger were presented with the Francie Roberts Buchanan Visionary Award.

CHH received the organizational award for contributions and support provided during 2015, including serving as the premier sponsor of the Italian Festival and hosting several staff-directed food drives throughout the year.

Kathy Hettlinger received the individual award for providing countless hours to projects, planning and governance issues as a member of the Facing Hunger Foodbank Board of Directors.

The Facing Hunger Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization affiliated with Feeding America, the largest hunger relief agency in the United States. The group distributes USDA commodities through The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), designed to alleviate hunger among low-income individuals and to service areas damaged by natural disasters.
