Freshmen in Concord University’s UNIV 100 courses are participating in two service projects this week in honor of Patriot Day (Sept. 11) and the Governor’s Day to Serve (Sept. 11-14.)

The students will assemble gift bags for homebound senior citizens for distribution through the local Commission on Aging’s home delivered meals program from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11.

Student volunteers will write letters to military service men and women through the “A Million Thanks” program from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11 and Friday, Sept. 12.

The service projects are being coordinated by Concord University’s Bonner Scholars Program.
