Concord University, Third District Accelerator Hosting Business Development Workshop

Concord University and the Third District Accelerator are hosting a how-to workshop on business development entitled “Get Your Piece of the Tourism Pie.” The workshop is being held Thursday, June 20 at 1 p.m. at the Ritz Theatre in Hinton, W.Va. and is geared toward persons who are interested in starting a business in Summers County.

Guest speakers include: Chris Meadows, New River Gateway CVB; Rick Moorefield, WVU Extension Service; and Joe Brouse, Natural Capital Investment Fund.

Event sponsors are the Ritz Theatre and the Market on Courthouse Square.

The Third District Accelerator is a new opportunity to accelerate growth in tourism and advanced manufacturing across southern West Virginia.

Concord University is a partner in the Third District Accelerator along with Marshall University, the Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI), the Natural Capital Investment Fund and TechConnect West Virginia. Through these organizations, the Third District Accelerator is providing integrated business support efforts and technical assistance, including grantsmanship workshops, training and workforce development, e-business marketing and entrepreneurial support and advanced manufacturing tools/capabilities.

The Third District Accelerator is funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Appalachian Regional Commission.
