Detective-Sergeant Steven Sommers with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department will give a lecture on CyberSecurity Awareness at Concord University on Tuesday, Oct. 18. The presentation will be held from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. in Marsh Hall, Room 320.

Concord’s Students for Campus Safety Awareness are hosting the event in observance of CyberSecurity Awareness month during October.  This lecture will explain ways to be safe online.

“Every person, regardless of age, class, or status should know how to protect themselves online,” Keri Svendsen, President of Students for Campus Safety Awareness, said. “This talk will not only give helpful advice for protecting yourself but also make you aware of things that can be misused in the cyber world.”

“Participants can learn whether or not they are secure online and to protect themselves, their information, and even their family members,” she said.

The event is open to the Concord campus community and to the general public at no charge.
