Dec. 1 to Be Designated #GivingTuesday; Marshall Seeks 250 Donors on Special Day

As part of the global day dedicated to giving back, Mayor Steve Williams will issue a proclamation designating December 1 as #GivingTuesday for Huntington, at 11 a.m. in the Brad D. Smith Foundation Hall on Marshall University’s Huntington campus.

In a worldwide promotion, the day has been set aside to allow charities, families, businesses, community centers and students around the globe to come together for the common purpose of celebrating generosity and to give.

Marshall will mark the day with the MU Foundation’s kickoff of its annual Family Campaign for Marshall faculty and staff along with an appearance by Marco.

To get their giving campaigns off to a strong start and to observe the day, Marshall is aiming for 250 donors, according to Griffin Talbott, director of annual giving at the Marshall University Foundation. An extensive social media campaign will also be conducted.
